Funding

Funding is available up to $3000.00 per research proposal for studies consistent with priority areas established by the International Association of Lasallian Universities.

Available resources may preclude funding of all proposals submitted in a given proposal submission cycle. Proposal submission dates are noted on the homepage of the Lasallian Research Grant website.

Submitted proposals should be designed to facilitate use of allocated funds within a fiscal year. Budget categories may include:

  1. Supplies and equipment necessary to conduct the proposed research
    1. Purchase requests can be made by an authorized department Banner user.
    2. Reimbursement for purchases can be requested with proof of purchase receipts.
    3. Compensation to individuals (for example, study participants, consultants, etc.) is subject to 1099 IRS reporting.
  2. Student Research Assistant compensation
The Lasallian Research Grant encourages participation of students as research assistants in research studies. Student research assistant participation must comply with parameters for work study positions on campus. Funding for student research assistants should be incorporated into the budget submitted with the proposal.

  3.  Reimbursement for expenses incurred to present research findings, including conference registration fees, poster production, and travel. Expenses associated with presentation of research findings should be incorporated into the budget submitted with the proposal, adhering to the following guidelines:
    1. Documentation of acceptance as a presenter (conference brochure, etc.) will be required for reimbursement.
    2. Information provided in the proposal budget should include conference details (sponsor, location, date, registration fees, type of presentation).
    3. The º£½ÇÉçÇø Lasallian Research Grant program should be acknowledged in all presentations and publications. The Lasallian Research Grant Program template, available on the website, should be used for poster design.
    4. Receipts are required for all expenses for reimbursement.
    5. Lodging in the greater Chicagoland area will not be reimbursed.
  4. Course release for faculty conducting the proposed research, limited to one course (three credit hours) per semester. A request for course release will absorb the total budget available for a submitted proposal. Course release is not available to faculty members with overload contracts.
