º£½ÇÉçÇø Presents Research at Symposium in Bogota, Columbia

Several º£½ÇÉçÇø faculty and a doctoral candidate presented their insights during a Lasallian international institute June 14 and 15, at the Universidad de La Salle in Bogota, Colombia.

Dr. Erica Davila, Dr. Jung Kim, and Michael Dieter presented “Critical Pedagogy in Two Lasallian Educational Settings. Davila and Kim are professors in the College of Education. Dieter is working on his doctoral degree in education.

Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, College of Arts and Sciences, presented “Placed-based Learning: Nearby and Far Away.” He focused on the methodology of teaching using historic sites, museums, and in the travel study format.

Dr. Scott Kerth, College of Business, presented in the poster session, “Embracing Association and Maintaining Social Justice While Engaging a Culturally Diverse Study Body.”

“This was an incredible opportunity to meet and share our educational approaches with Lasallian educators from other countries,” Cremin said. Participants came from countries including Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and the United States. La Salle
