"We selected the Top Green Colleges based on a combination of school-reported data and student opinion. º£½ÇÉçÇø was chosen as an environmentally responsible school that makes exceptional commitments to sustainability, from academics and career prep to campus clubs and initiatives.”
Dr. Jerry Kavouras, director and professor of Environmental Science at º£½ÇÉçÇø, said, “Our Environmental Science students benefit tremendously by having a green campus as a learning environment. We’re able to directly relate sustainability lessons from the classroom to our campus.”
For example, Environmental Science majors and the Student Sustainability Club recently restored to a native prairie an area on campus, which will be expanded over the years by students as a hands-on learning experience and serve as an experimental outdoor laboratory.
