London Travel Study Program Brings º£½ÇÉçÇø Students Across the Pond

Seven º£½ÇÉçÇø students from courses in history and literature traveled across the pond to London May 19-28 as part of the º£½ÇÉçÇø Travel Study program.
While in London, the group of students visited Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Dickens Museum, along with other sites in the area. They attended a performance at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre as well.
Highlights of the trip included visits to the Museum of London, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace. The group also took a river cruise boat down the Thames from Westminster Pier to Greenwich, where they visited the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory.
The students who attended the trip included Madison Dewey, Ra’Naa Iqbal, Samantha Kowalczyk, Joseph McDermott, Ziarra Miller, Sita Patel, and Cody Phillips.
The students were enrolled in the courses Culture and Civilization, The British Empire or British Literature: 1800 to the Present. Dr. Eileen McMahon, chair and professor of , and Dr. Jamil Mustafa, chair and professor of taught the courses and led the trip.
The office provides students at º£½ÇÉçÇø the unique chance to complement and enhance their academic careers with a variety of international academic opportunities. Programs run anywhere from a few weeks to an academic year and offer Lewis courses that can fit into general education, elective, minor, and/or major credits depending on the program.
