Women in Business Club Endowed by Alumna Cherilyn G. Murer
As part of º£½ÇÉçÇø’s $50 million Students at the Center, For a Better World comprehensive campaign, Colleen Ahearn, vice president of University Advancement, announced that Cherilyn G. Murer has made a transformative commitment to create an endowment in support of the Women in Business Club. This endowment represents a significant contribution to º£½ÇÉçÇø’s ongoing commitment to empowering future business leaders. Following her recent lecture at º£½ÇÉçÇø as part of a distinguished speaker series, Cherilyn G. Murer, a pioneer in healthcare consulting and a successful entrepreneur, was inspired to provide startup funds for a Women in Business Club. “This generous endowment from Cherilyn Murer is a testament to her dedication to supporting the next generation of business leaders,” said Ahearn. “Her vision for empowering students through mentorship, resources, and real-world connections will be a lasting legacy at º£½ÇÉçÇø.” “As the fastest-growing club at the University, with an engaged and active membership, the Cherilyn G. Murer Women in Business Club clearly demonstrates how its presence is fulfilling a much-needed and desired experience for many of our students,” added Dr. Ryan D. Butt, dean of the College of Business. “We are beyond grateful for Cherilyn’s commitment and vision for the future of this club.” Reflecting on her own experiences, Murer shared that she didn’t have many female role models when she began her career in business and law. She persevered and followed her internal moral compass to create an innovative model in the delivery of integrated consulting services in the burgeoning healthcare industry. She continues to lead today with a knowledge and integrity of servicing a national and international client base. Murer stated, “I have truly been inspired by the young women of º£½ÇÉçÇø. It is a joy to collaborate with Dean Butt to fulfill his vision to excel in business and entrepreneurship. I am honored to be the founding member of the Women in Business group, and delighted to help facilitate its legacy of mentorship.” Housed in the College of Business, the Women in Business Club provides opportunities for students across disciplines to engage in meaningful discussions on business issues, network with peers, and learn from successful alumni and business leaders.
