De La Salle Medallion for Excellence (Students)
Each April, º£½ÇÉçÇø recognizes faculty, staff, and students with several prestigious Lasallian Awards, honoring these individuals for their commitment to the Catholic and Lasallian Mission and core values of the University. The Mission Recognition and Awards Committee of the Mission and Heritage Council is responsible for reviewing nominations from the University community and selecting honorees.

De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Service and Community Engagement
The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Service and Community Engagement is awarded to a º£½ÇÉçÇø student who works with community organizations to meet needs and invites others to be more involved with their community.
NOMINATION CRITERIA
An honoree will be a student who:
- Regularly participates and serves as a leader in curricular and/or co-curricular community-based experiences
- Spreads awareness about opportunities for service and community engagement through University offices, programs, and initiatives as well as off-campus organizations
- Personally invites others to engage in community based experiences
- Is recognized on campus and in the community for their commitment to serving others
Strong candidates will have engaged deeply in the community beyond campus during their career at Lewis, whether in multiple ways or more significantly with one or two experiences.
Examples include:
- Serving as a Community Engaged Learning Facilitator
- Enrolling in one or many Community Engaged Learning/ Service Learning courses
- Working independently with a community agency
- Participating and/or leading a LUMINATE trip(s)
- Leading a service-oriented student organization
- Regularly engaging in Source of Light (SOL) service experiences
