Services For Faculty and Staff
Circulation Services
Lewis students, alumni, faculty, and staff may borrow print books and materials from the Lewis Library general collection. Lewis students, faculty, and staff may also borrow print materials from the 82 I-Share libraries. An I-Share account is required for borrowing from other I-Share libraries.
Borrowing Privileges
A º£½ÇÉçÇø photo ID with a barcode is required for all faculty and staff in order to borrow materials from the Lewis Library. Lewis photo ID must be presented each time materials are checked out.
Renewals
º£½ÇÉçÇø materials may be renewed online through the I-Share account, or at the Circulation Desk, or by phoning (815) 836-5300, if the materials are not overdue. Once materials are overdue, there is no renewal.
Fines and Fees for Print Materials
When library material is lost or destroyed there will be a $40.00 processing fee assessed for each item in addition to the cost of the item charged. The borrower will be notified of these fines and fees.
Fines and Fees for Fly-By Video Collection
There will be a fine of $2.00 per day, per video/DVD, that is overdue. These fines will not be forgiven and will be billed through the º£½ÇÉçÇø Business Office. For any DVDs lost or destroyed, there will be a $40.00 processing fee charged, in addition to the replacement cost of the DVD. Outstanding fine amounts of $5.00 or more will block all borrowing until the outstanding amount is settled.
Reference Services For Faculty
Research Assistance
The primary duties of the Reference and Research Librarians at º£½ÇÉçÇø are to provide personalized research assistance to students and faculty and staff. Assistance is available in person, by phone or e-mail. The Reference and Research Librarians will be happy to advise in how best to fully use the Library’s resources. Reference and Research Librarians are on duty whenever the Library is open and can be contacted at (815) 836-5306 or by email at Ask a Reference Librarian.
Information Literacy and Library Research Sessions
All instructors are encouraged to include Information Literacy sessions for their students as part of a class session. Each session conducted is a hands-on session, specific to the research assignment for that class. Please contact the Reference and Research Librarians at 815-836-5306 for more information.
Scanners are Available For Copying
Scanners are used for all copying. The scanned material can be saved to a flash drive, or can be sent directly to the printers for printing, or can be sent as an attachment directly to Gmail, or can be sent directly to Google docs. There is no charge for using the scanner, however there is a $.10 per page charge for black and white printing.
